Church Covenant

Being made by God into a holy nation, a royal priesthood, and a people for God’s own choosing,¹ we joyfully affirm our covenant together:

We will love our God who first loved us, and we will walk in brotherly love² by working and praying toward unity,³ regarding one another as more important than ourselves,⁴ bearing with one another’s difficulties,⁵ exercising spiritual gifts for one another’s good,⁶ admonishing one another with the truth,⁷ putting away all forms of destructive talk,⁸ and interceding for one another in prayer.⁹

We will come together regularly to worship God and to build up one another¹⁰ by the reading and preaching of the Holy Scriptures, prayer, the Lord’s Supper,¹¹ and participating in song.¹²

We will treasure our Heavenly Father’s discipline of us¹³ by seeking full maturity in Christ,¹⁴ confessing our sins to one another,¹⁵ submitting to the discipline of the church,¹⁶ exercising affectionate care and watchfulness over one another,¹⁷ pleading for the repentance of those who sin against us,¹⁸ and continually forgiving one another.¹⁹

We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of church ministry, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.²⁰

We will live in the world as holy and set apart from it by denying ungodliness and the passions of the flesh.²¹

May all Heaven and Earth see God’s manifold wisdom revealed through His church.²² May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with us all. Amen.²³
