Rod Walls, Senior Pastor

Rod was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has pastored churches in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia and has served as the Senior Pastor of Christ Reformed Baptist Church since June of 2019. Rod is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. in Apologetics), Campbell University Divinity School (M.Div. in Biblical Studies), and Carolina Graduate School of Divinity (D.Min. in Preaching). Rod and his wife, Pam, have two children and a daughter-in-law who reside in Athens, Georgia. They also have a black miniature cocker spaniel who is as sweet as she is spoiled. They enjoy hanging out with family and friends, reading, listening to jazz music, relaxing in the mountains, and cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers.


Sean Martin, Associate Pastor

Sean is a native Dalton, Georgia. He has served as the Associate Pastor of Christ Reformed Baptist Church since 2021. He shares much of the preaching load and teaches an adult Sunday school class. Sean is a graduate of Dalton State University (B.S. in Mathematics with Secondary Education Certification) and is currently pursuing a M.Div. in Christian Ministry at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary. Sean and his wife, Leah, have 3 children and have been married for since 2010.


Jim Bartenfield, Assistant Pastor

Jim was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia. He has served as an elder at CRBC since its formation in 2018. Jim helps lead worship and teaches an adult Sunday school class. In 2008 his wife, Mary, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. He has one son and two grandchildren. Jim is retired and enjoys yard work, cycling, and square dancing.


Don Shoemaker, Deacon

Don was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, but he has spent much of his life in Dalton. Right after he was born, he and his family moved to Dalton where he lived for sixteen years. Then they moved back to the South Pittsburg area where Don remained until he married his wife, Pam, a native of Dalton. They first met thirty-seven years earlier in a Dalton middle school and had reconnected through social media. So Don moved back to Dalton … again! Don and Pam have four children and two dogs. Don has served as a deacon at CRBC since 2019. He assists the elders with worship and is part of the Media & Sound Team. He enjoys traveling across the country with his son to watch MLB games and college football, but they mainly follow the Braves and Miami Hurricanes.


Bill Martin, Deacon

Bill has served as a deacon at CRBC since 2021. Among other things, he assists the elders with worship and keeps the church facilities running smoothly. A native Californian, he moved to Dalton in 1983 due to an injury on the fire department in San Jose. Bill came to know the Lord in 1985. In 1986 he married Marsha, a native of Murray County. Bill and Marsha have three children and five grandchildren. Bill enjoys hunting & fishing, scuba diving, and hanging out with family and friends.
