Leadership & Staff
Rod Walls, Elder
Rod was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has pastored churches in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia and has served as the Lead Elder of Christ Reformed Baptist Church since June of 2019. Rod holds degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A.), Campbell University Divinity School (M.Div.), and Carolina Graduate School of Divinity (D.Min.). Rod and his wife, Pam, have two children and a daughter-in-law who reside in Athens, Georgia. They also have a black miniature cocker spaniel who is as sweet as she is spoiled. They enjoy hanging out with family and friends, reading, listening to jazz music, relaxing in the mountains, and cheering for the Tennessee Vols.
Jim Bartenfield, Elder
Jim was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia. He has served as an elder at CRBC since its formation in 2018. Jim helps lead worship and teaches an adult Sunday school class. In 2008 his wife, Mary, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. He has one son and two grandchildren. Jim is retired and enjoys yard work, cycling, and square dancing.
Derick Land, Elder
Derick was born and raised in Frostproof, FL, a small town in central Florida, but has called northwest Georgia home since 2005. He and his wife, Kara, have been blessed with two children. Derick is a graduate of Dalton State College and works in logistics. He enjoys spending time with family, reading, and hunting.
Don Shoemaker, Deacon
Don was born in South Pittsburg, but soon after he was born his family moved to Dalton where he lived for sixteen years. Then they moved back to the South Pittsburg area where Don remained until he married his wife, Pam, a native of Dalton. They first met thirty-seven years earlier in a Dalton middle school and had reconnected through social media. So Don moved back to Dalton … again! Don and Pam have four children and two dogs. Don assists the elders in any way possible and is also part of the Media Team. He enjoys traveling across the country with his son to watch MLB games and college football, but they mainly follow the Braves and Miami Hurricanes.
Jr. Howard, Deacon
Jr.’s greatest passion in life is to honor, worship, and glorify his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He considers himself blessed to be called to serve as a deacon of CRBC. Jr. is married to his best friend, Deborah. They have four children, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Jr. is retired, so he spends much of his time maintaining the church campus and playing golf. He also enjoys baseball and college football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs.
Daniela Jones, Secretary
Daniela was born and raised in Germany and met her husband, Chris, while he was stationed there with the military. They have three children and as a family they served as missionaries in Europe for three years. Daniela enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and going on long walks and runs.
