What’s In a Name?

The name of our church describes well who we are.

Christ

Above all else, we are Christ-centered. Christ is our greatest Treasure! We desire to put Christ first above all things. Our worship is Christ-focused. Our purpose is to glorify Christ. Our mission is to know Christ and to make Him known.

Reformed

We identify with the confessional Reformed tradition of the universal church. We affirm the “five solas” of the Protestant Reformation: (1) Sola Scriptura (our final authority is Scripture alone); (2) Sola Gratia (salvation is by grace alone); (3) Sola Fide (through faith alone); (4) Sola Christus (in Christ alone); (5) Soli Deo Gloria (to the glory of God alone). But, of course, we recognize there is much more to being Reformed than simply embracing the five solas.

Baptist

In continuity with our Baptist heritage, we seek to maintain a regenerate church membership; that is, we believe the church is to be made up of those who have been born again (or regenerated) by the Holy Spirit and who have been baptized upon their profession of faith in Christ. Furthermore, our polity is known as plural elder-led congregationalism, which simply means that we are Christ-ruled, elder-led, deacon-served, and congregationally-governed.

Church

We are a family here at CRBC. We value the community of believers for mutual edification as we share the joys and hardships of life together. We want to know, care for, love, encourage, equip, and even correct one another in an effort to honor Christ with our lives, both individually and as a body of believers. Our sincere desire is that you know Christ –– not just about Him –– but that you have a personal and abiding relationship with Him. The best way to do this is in the context of a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church.
